The World’s Largest Irish Music Festival

Milwaukee Irish Fest is the largest Irish music festival in the world, with over 100 acts performing across 16 stages. You’ll hear everything from traditional folk and lively céilí bands to modern Celtic rock and experimental fusion. Alongside the music, expect spectacular Irish dance performances and the famous closing-night “Scattering,” when dozens of musicians join forces for one riotous finale!

Food, Drink, and “The Craic”

With more than 35 vendors, Irish Fest is a foodie’s wonderland. You can sample traditional Irish dishes or creative festival street food. And, of course, there’s plenty to wash it down — from Guinness on tap to locally brewed beers and refreshing ciders. And if you’ve never tried an Irish coffee (that’s coffee with a splash of Irish whiskey) in the open air by the lake, here’s your chance.

If any beer enthusiasts in attendance want to continue their exploration of MKE’s famous brewing scene, they couldn’t do better than joining our Milwaukee Brewery Tour

A Living Lesson in Irish Culture

Irish Fest can help immerse you in Ireland’s traditions. Visit the Cultural Pavilion to explore genealogy exhibits, history talks, and interactive workshops. Watch Gaelic sports in action, browse Irish-made goods in the marketplace, or try a few words of the Irish language with a native speaker.

Fun for All Ages

True to Irish tradition, you can expect first-class hospitality at Irish Fest – all are welcome. Families will find a dedicated Children’s Area featuring crafts, storytelling, and kid-friendly performances. Kids 12 and under get in free, making it an easy weekend outing.

Kids can also wander into the whimsical world of Leprechaun Village, a magical mini-town made just for kids. Search for hidden gold, peek inside tiny buildings like the leprechaun bank vault, pub, workshop, and performance stage, and keep your eyes peeled for sneaky leprechauns.

Part of Milwaukee’s Festival DNA

Since its founding in 1981, Milwaukee Irish Fest has been run by CelticMKE, a nonprofit dedicated to preserving and promoting Celtic heritage. Proceeds support year-round cultural programs, including the Ward Irish Music Archives and youth music education. The festival is a true testament to Milwaukee’s “City of Festivals” nickname.
